Broken in half, fifty-four.
Simple or ornate this garland around my neck
poses a question
The meaning may be found in some
Or perhaps a mythology; Deities dancing on the lips of ascetics and the humble.
What if it's none of these.
Maybe a hundred beads for a common breath
and eight for a love-filled sigh
The Guru bead place-holding the intention of the breath
To live, to love.
One hundred-eight ways to learn and experience
Fifty-four ways to grow
Twenty-seven ways to say I love you.
And mean it.
A garland, a love letter to the world.
Reminder of the need for compassionate being.
This garland around my neck poses one hundred-eight questions.
The answers are as personal as sorrow
as common as gratitude.
As uncommon as an altruistic deed.
A reminder to be that change you want to see.
One hundred-eight actions
Fifty-four kind deeds
Twenty-seven opportunities to remember to give thanks.
This garland around my neck.
Love long and prosper, Namaste.
